After graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with honours Randy began his art career in Winnipeg Manitoba. He began to paint at night and worked for a local bronze company made historic plaques and grave markers that can be seen across North America. He left the company when it was sold in 2008 to begin carving in stone and painting in acrylics.
